Prepare to fall asleep! In this, the sixth installment of Crankcast, I discuss a little bit of everything, from site changes and tennis (including the Sabalenka-Świątek rivalry) to starting an antidepressant and whether it’s weird to write personal posts like ‘Gone Girl.’
This was recorded a few weeks ago, prior to the ATP Finals in Turin (where Carlos Alcaraz unfortunately remained a non-factor), and I refer to it as ‘Vol. 4’ because that’s what it was going to be until a change of schedule allowed me to discuss disturbing old folk music with Crankenstein instead.
Apologies for not having fresher content — I’d hoped to record something new today, but this was a bad week for sleep and my brain is currently mush. Also, a few corrections and clarifications: Alcaraz made it to the semis in Beijing, not the final; the “I could end it right here” phenomenon I mentioned is called “l’appel du vide — the call of the void;” and in case my “more favorable outcome” comment is unclear, I meant there were much easier ways to wrap things up.
